Ruby's Balloon Movie Poster Art

Ruby's Balloon is a new movie from Australia directed by Billy Minshull-Gardner and produced by Nicole Melrose.

I feel very fortunate to have been asked to create the poster art for this wonderful film.

Inspired by the 1956 film The Red Balloon (directed by Albert Lamorisse), Ruby's Balloon is about a young woman struggling with the pressures of growing up who forms a life-changing friendship with a beautiful, red balloon that has a personality of its own. This delightful and visually entertaining film reveals some of the hidden magic in the world that is often overlooked or forgotten.

The short film of Ruby's Balloon, "A Nightmare in Chalk", has just been released. Billy and Nicole are looking to make a full length version of this charming story and have started a Pozible page to help raise money to cover the filming cost. Please watch the short film of Ruby's Balloon bellow.  If you would like to support this movie, please follow this link to the Pozible website.

Book Cover Art

What a thrill to see a piece I drew used as the cover art for world renowned NASA astronomer Sten Odenwald's new book Eternity: A User's Guide, which is now available on amazon. Be sure to pick up a copy.

Book description: "Between the birth of the universe and eternity are an incredible number of key events that trace the emergence of the physical world, our earth, the appearance of life, and the ascent of humans and their intellectual culture. Most books trace only one of these threads of events through time so that you rarely get a sense of how episodes in astronomy or geology impact human history. This book features over 2,400 events culled from the scientific literature and from future speculation to fill-in our piece of eternity with meaningful events that made us who we are as individuals, a species, and as a living system. Presented in 'sound-bite' form with over 300 colorful illustrations, this book offers a guide to our small portion of eternity, and how by taking possession of it we can become its Users rather than passive travelers."

Cards for Charity

Cards by Caca, based in the UK, has been working with a diverse group of artists to create a gorgeous collection of greeting cards to raise money for the CCUK (Crohn's And Colitis UK). I’m so happy that my artwork can help such a great cause.  What makes this even more special for me is that my father and fellow artist JB Rattner has contributed one of his gorgeous watercolor flowers to the line.

This book is a collection of modern pin-up artists who are creating pieces in the classic American pin-up style, sci-fi and fantasy pin-up, cartoon and comic book pin-up, hot rod pin-up, neo-surreal pin-up and many more.
